A seasoned communications and marketing professional with significant expertise in education issues
Student-Ready Strategies (SRS) today announced the appointment of Kate Vaulter in the role of Vice President of Marketing and Communications. Most recently, Vaulter served as the Corporate Communications Manager at Early Learning Indiana where she was an advocate for high-quality early childhood education across Indiana. In this role, she managed internal and external communication efforts, created and facilitated media opportunities and developed high impact publications. Notably, her media relations expertise stems from nearly a decade of experience as a local television news reporter and anchor in the Terre Haute and Indianapolis markets, where she covered education policy at the state and local level.
“Kate Vaulter’s talent for communications and instinct for strategy are unmatched among her peers,” said Sarah Ancel, founder and CEO of Student-Ready Strategies. “Her perspective and expertise will advance SRS’s organizational mission and further enhance the breadth and quality of service we offer our clients and partners.”
Vaulter has already made her mark at SRS, finalizing development of the organization’s report, When the Crisis is Over: Becoming Student-Ready in Post-Pandemic Higher Education, in her first week in her new role. The report that explores the effects of COVID-19 on higher education and offers student-ready recommendations for states and institutions in the wake of the pandemic. Vaulter’s past work demonstrates her dedication to creating an equitable, student-ready world. She has developed large-scale national reports, lauded by equity experts, that emphasize the importance of centering Black, Latinx, and Indigenous student success in order to close equity gaps and reach national and state attainment goals. She has elevated the impact of communications for Complete College America, interviewed state SHEEOs, university presidents and college system leaders, and created impactful video productions to highlight dynamic student success efforts in states across the country.
At SRS, Vaulter will continue to push for these ideals through the design of innovative publications and bold social media campaigns. She will also work in partnership with SRS’s clients to construct thoughtfully designed communication plans, execute marketing strategies, and provide thought leadership around best practices in education communications.
“I am thrilled to have Kate Vaulter on our team. Her passion for equitable student outcomes and knowledge of how best to use communications and marketing to move the needle for students of color is unmatched in our field. She has an incredibly unique skillset and our clients and partners are already excited to work with her,” says Vanessa Keadle, senior vice president at SRS.
